Jasprit Bumrah Fitness Update for Champions Trophy 2025
One of the major talking points from the squad announcement was the inclusion of Jasprit Bumrah, whose availability in Champions Trophy 2025 is still uncertain. Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar confirmed that the BCCI medical team is closely monitoring his fitness, and a final decision will be made in early February. Bumrah, who has been struggling with a recurring back injury, is a key asset for the team, especially considering the challenging conditions in UAE. India will play all champions trophy matches in UAE despite traveling to Pakistan.
Agarkar stated, “We’re waiting on Bumrah’s fitness update. The BCCI medical team will provide clarity in early February, and we will make a decision accordingly.” If Bumrah is unable to recover in time, India might have to name a replacement, with bowlers like Mukesh Kumar or Prasidh Krishna being potential options.
