Human remains were discovered inside the Srisailam tunnel incident during a rescue operation for trapped workers. Telangana Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao confirmed on Thursday.
Rescue teams, including NDRF and SDRF, have been scouring the tunnel since reports emerged of workers being trapped after a suspected wall collapse.
The minister stated that the remains are being analyzed to determine their identity, while efforts to locate survivors continue.
The incident has raised concerns over safety protocols at the irrigation project site. Authorities have not yet disclosed the number of missing individuals. Krishna Rao assured quick operations, emphasizing coordination between agencies.
